This project was part of a monthly creative inspiration initiative at a previous agency. It reimagines Mark Twain's quote, 'Work and play are words used to describe the same thing under differing circumstances,' through a translucent two-color screen print that emphasizes the close relationship between work and play.

The design stacks the words "work" and "play" in a column four times, with each set slightly overlapping to symbolize their connection. Using translucent inks, the overlaps blend to create a layered effect, reinforcing Twain's idea that work and play are interconnected.

Between each set, the phrase "are words used to describe the same thing under differing circumstances" appears in a smaller, understated font, breaking up the repetition with subtle emphasis. This understated typography balances the bolder words and guides the viewer’s eye through the design.

To bring a playful, nostalgic experience reminiscent of grammar school, I created a folded paper fortune teller as a fun, interactive way to share quotes and insights from various creatives, artists, and authors. This design invites readers to engage with these ideas in a lighthearted and memorable way. It was presented flat, allowing users to follow simple instructions to fold their own.
